(Bridgeport, Conn. – April 18, 2014) – The Bridgeport Bluefish defeated the Long Island Duck by the score of 8-4 on Friday afternoon in a preseason game at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

Tomo Ohka (spring training invite) was the starting pitcher for Bridgeport and pitched two scoreless innings, including striking out the side in the top of the first inning. Norwalk, CT native Matt Iannazzo (1-0) picked up the win in relief, pitching a scoreless fifth inning.

MLB Vet Omogrosso Joins Bluefish

Former Major Leaguer Brian Omogrosso added to pitching staff



(Bridgeport, Conn. – April 18, 2014) – The Bridgeport Bluefish today announced the signing of pitcher Brian Omogrosso. Omogrosso comes to Bridgeport for his first season in the Atlantic League and ninth of professional baseball.

“Brian is a veteran arm that gives us depth in our bullpen,” says Bluefish manager Willie Upshaw. “His experience in the big leagues the last two seasons will be an asset to this club.”

Bluefish Announce Spring Training Schedule

(Bridgeport, Conn. – April 14, 2014) – The Bridgeport Bluefish today announced dates and starting times for their 2014 Spring Training schedule. The Bluefish will hold Spring Training in Bridgeport at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard during 2014.

The Spring Training schedule will include four exhibition games, with two contests against the cross-sound rival Long Island Ducks, and two against the Milford Hunters. Three of those games will be held at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard. The first exhibition will take place at home on Friday, April 18 and the second spring training game is scheduled for Saturday, April 19

(Bridgeport, Conn. – April 8, 2014) – The Bridgeport Bluefish today announced the club’s promotional fireworks schedule for the 2014 season. The fun-filled entertainment at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard is highlighted by eight fireworks extravaganza’s during the year.

With the assistance of Bridgeport Landing Development, LLC (Steelpointe), the Bluefish will once again be able to provide all guests with a one-of-kind experience at the ballpark. The fireworks extravaganza schedule will begin on Saturday, June 7th and continue each Saturday night home game through the end of the season.
