Biography:
Joe will enter his 10th year of professional baseball, third in the Atlantic League and first with the Bluefish. In 2009, the 28-year-old played for Independent Edmonton of the Golden League. In 46 games, he batted .288 with 11 home runs, 34 RBI and 35 runs scored over the course of 177 at-bats.
The Florida native made his Atlantic League debut in 2006 as a member of the Atlantic City Surf, recording his best season as a professional. He was named to the Atlantic League All-Star Team after batting .319 with 29 doubles, 21 home runs, 79 RBI, and 67 runs scored in 439 at-bats. The following season, Jiannetti would split time between the York Revolution and the Newark Bears. In 302 combined at-bats, he recorded a .269 batting average. Prior to joining the Atlantic League, the infielder spent four seasons in the New York Mets organization.
Joe was selected by the New York Mets in the 40th round of the 2000 amateur draft. |
