Atlantic League season starts April 18; Harbor Yard opener on April 26 against York Revolution
(Bridgeport, Conn. – Nov. 6, 2012) - Bridgeport Bluefish team officials today announced the release of their schedule for the 2013 season.
The 2013 schedule will include 140 contests and features 70 home games at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard. The Bluefish will begin their season on the road at Sovereign Bank Stadium against the York Revolution with a four-game series beginning Thursday, April 18. The Bluefish home opener at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard will be on Friday, April 26 against the Revolution as they start a three-game weekend set. The home schedule includes eleven weekend series.
“We’re very excited about this year’s schedule and the upcoming 2013 season at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard,” says Bluefish General Manager Ken Shepard. “The organization is looking forward to putting together another competitive team, a great promotional schedule and continuing our tradition of affordable family entertainment, while providing our guests with the best Bluefish experience ever.”
The first significant dates in the early part of the schedule will be two scheduled doubleheaders. On Wednesday, May 8 the ‘Fish will take on the Camden Riversharks in a single-admission doubleheader, consisting of two seven-inning contests. Then on Saturday, May 11, Bridgeport will square off against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in a day/night double dip. Sunday, May 12 will mark an important event for all the mothers out there, as the Bluefish will tangle again with the Blue Crabs in a Mother’s Day matchup. On Monday, May 27, the ‘Fish will take on the Somerset Patriots in a special Memorial Day contest. The cross-sound rival and defending Atlantic League champion Long Island Ducks make their first trip to the Park City on Tuesday, June 4 as Bridgeport will defend the Ferry Cup against the visiting Flock. The Fourth of July will prove to be a blast at Harbor Yard as the Bluefish will square off against the York Revolution. The ‘Fish wrap up the 2013 season The Ballpark at Harbor Yard with a weekend homestand against the Riversharks from September 13-15.
