Two Bluefish Named To Postseason All-Star Team

 James Simmons and Prentice Redman honored on Second Team


(Bridgeport, Conn. – October 27, 2014)
– The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball today announced that Bridgeport Bluefish outfielders James Simmons and Prentice Redman have been named to the 2014 Atlantic League Postseason All-Star Team. Simmons and Redman were named to the Second Team.

“We are very pleased to hear that James and Prentice have been named to represent the Bluefish on the Atlantic League Postseason All-Star Team” said general manager Jamie Toole. “They were strong contributors to our club all season long and we are happy that they have received these honors.”

Simmons, who claims Second Team honors, led the Atlantic League in runs scored (103), ranked third in home runs (20) and total bases (266), and fifth in hits (161) and triples (7). He also batted .295 with 31 doubles, 67 RBI, and 15 steals over the course of 133 games with the Bluefish this season. The slugger was previously named to the 2014 Atlantic League All-Star Team earlier this year.

Redman, also a Second Team honoree, batted .270 with 25 doubles, 16 home runs, 65 RBI, and 57 runs scored, while collecting a .747 OPS during 132 games played with the ‘Fish.

“Each season it seems as if the quality of our All Star team gets better,” said Joe Klein, Executive Director of the Atlantic League. “We are proud of the quality of play in the Atlantic League and feel the quality of play is increasing each season. The 2014 All Star team is an example of what I mean, the league is quite proud of them.”
