Chris and Desiree Siegfried from The Bachelorette to make appearance at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on May 23rd
(Bridgeport, Conn. – April 17, 2015) – The Bridgeport Bluefish today announced that they will host a Bachelorette Tribute Night at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Saturday, May 23rd.
Desiree Hartsock, the star of season 9 of ABC’s The Bachelorette, and her new husband from the show, Chris Siegfried, will be at the Ballpark on May 23rd. The Bluefish are offering different packages to interact with the stars including a Baseball Camp, a VIP Black Tie Cocktail Party, and an Exclusive Bachelorette Party Package which includes a private meeting with Desiree.
The Bluefish invited newlyweds Desiree and Chris Siegfried to The Ballpark at Harbor Yard because of their public love for baseball. Before meeting his new wife, Chris Siegfried was a minor league baseball pitcher. He was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 11th round of the 2007 MLB Amateur Draft, and began his career with Boise of the Northwest League. He reached the High-A Level in 2009 and 2010 with Daytona of the Florida State League, before finishing his career in 2011 with Fargo-Moorhead of the independent American Association. In 142 career minor league appearances (19 starts), Chris owns 14 wins with a 4.64 ERA, and 224 strikeouts in 294.2 innings of work.
Although his professional career is over, baseball still remains close to Desiree and Chris Siegfried’s heart. In 2013, the couple published Diamonds and Hearts: A Poetic Memoir, a collection of poems written by the couple about their time while filming The Bachelorette. The collection featured a baseball shaped like a heart on the cover. Fans who attend the Bachelorette Tribute Night will have a chance to take home a signed copy of the book.
With the help of some of the Bluefish players, Chris and Desiree will host a baseball camp for fans of all ages and abilities at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Saturday, May 23rd at 11:00 a.m. Camp participants will receive an exclusive Bluefish Bachelorette T-Shirt, lunch, and a Box Seat to the game.
