Bluefish Will Host Michelle Beadle Appreciation Night

Michelle Beadle will be honored at Harbor Yard on June 1st…and Floyd Mayweather is not invited

(Bridgeport, Conn. – May 13, 2015
) – The Bridgeport Bluefish will host a Michelle Beadle Appreciation Night at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Monday, June 1st, where the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a Michelle Beadle paper face fan.

Michelle Beadle is a very popular sports reporter, and is currently the co-host of
SportsNation on ESPN2 alongside Max Kellerman and Marcellus Wiley. She is very involved on social media, with 1.1 million followers on Twitter and 64 thousand likes on Facebook.

This special night at the Ballpark will feature Michelle Beadle Trivia contests, and the Bluefish have invited Beadle herself to guest-coach the team for the evening.

Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, however, will not be allowed to attend Michelle Beadle Appreciation Night at Harbor Yard. Earlier this month, on the day leading up to the extremely publicized boxing match between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, Michelle Beadle was banned by Mayweather from attending the fight along with CNN Sports reporter Rachel Nichols. Beadle and Nichols claim they were denied press credentials because of their public criticism of Mayweather’s history of violence against women.

To show support for Michelle regarding this controversy, the Bluefish have officially banned Floyd Mayweather from the Ballpark on Michelle Beadle Appreciation Night. Further, fans are encouraged to use the promo code “BEADLE” while purchasing tickets online to the Michelle Beadle Appreciation Night game and the Bluefish will donate $2 per ticket to the Center for Family Justice, a local charity based in Bridgeport whose goal is to end domestic and sexual abuse and violence. “The Center for Family Justice breaks the cycle of abuse and violence –domestic, sexual and child – by providing services that create hope, restore lives and drive social change through education and community collaboration,” says Debra A. Greenwood, CEO of The Center for Family Justice.
