G-2 Sport inks five-year partnership to become new concessionaire at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard
(Bridgeport, Conn – January 20, 2016) – The Bridgeport Bluefish today announced that they have signed a five year agreement with G-2 Sport Catering, who will operate all concessions at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard beginning in 2016.
“We have listened to our fans who have asked us to improve the diversity and quality of the food and beverage service at the ballpark,” says Bluefish General Manager Jamie Toole. “We believe this partnership with G-2 Sport will deliver a dynamic improvement to Bluefish fans who visit The Ballpark at Harbor Yard in 2016.”
G-2 is thinking outside the box of normal ballpark food and kicking it up a notch, offering new and innovative fare to the loyal Bluefish fans. The main concourse inside the ballpark will feature uniquely themed stands with facades to match, including Uncle G's BBQ and The Healthy Nut. Uncle G's BBQ, a fan favorite that made its debut at the ballpark in 2015, will be serving their award-winning chili and pulled pork. The Healthy Nut will feature gluten-free sandwiches, among other healthier options. Other stands will be announced at a future date.
“Our focus is on bringing back the local feel and flavor of the region to the Bluefish fan base,” says G-2 Sport partner Michael Grob. “We will emphasize customer service, catering to both the season ticket holders and first timers alike. We want those first timers coming back again and again!”
Not only will G-2 Sport be serving fans on the main concourse, but they will also oversee catering in the Luxury and Party Suites, the Boar’s Head Picnic Area, and the Harbor Club. In addition, fans will be in awe of the 7,000 lb. smoker that will adorn the Beer Garden this coming season.
