Bluefish Announce "Kids Run the Ballpark" Day, presented by All Kids Dental

Contest winners will take over as Bluefish staff for one game on April 30

(Bridgeport, Conn. – February 24, 2016) – Hey kids, have you always wanted to work for a professional sports team? Now is your chance! The Bridgeport Bluefish today announced the “Kids Run the Ballpark” essay contest, presented by All Kids Dental.

All interested participants are asked to write a short essay (no more than 250 words) detailing why they want to work for the Bluefish. The Bluefish will select nine contest winners, who will be invited to shadow and assist a Bluefish employee on Saturday, April 30, 2016, when the Bluefish take on the New Britain Bees at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard at 1:12 pm. Available jobs include: general manager, field manager, grounds keeper, public relations/baseball operations, ticket sales, community relations, on-field promotions, stadium operations, and mascot handler.

“We are thrilled to partner with All Kids Dental for this special contest,” said Bluefish General Manager Jamie Toole. “The idea originally came to us from a young man named Aiden Blanc, an aspiring sports radio broadcaster from Fairfield County. He reached out to us about assisting our current broadcaster, Mike Mohr, in the radio booth for a game this season. We loved the idea, so we decided to make an entire day out of it and invite even more kids to join the Bluefish staff for the day.”

To enter the contest, please CLICK HERE to download the entry form and follow the instructions given. Participation is limited to children between the ages of 10 and 13. All entries must be received by Monday, March 28, 2016. Contest winners will be announced on Friday, April 1, 2016.
