Clemens pitched in the Major Leagues for 24 years, making his debut with the Boston Red Sox in 1984 and staying with the club for 13 seasons. Clemens was a member of the Toronto Blue Jays in 1997 and 1998 before joining the New York Yankees in 1999. In 2004, he was signed by the Houston Astros, but returned to the Yankees for his final season in 2007.

Over the course of his 24-year career, Clemens was an 11-time MLB All-Star (’86, ’88, ’90-’92, ’97, ’98, ’01, ’03-’05), a seven-time Cy Young Award winner (’86, ’87, ’91, ’97, ’98, ’01, ’04), and two-time pitching Triple Crown winner (’97, ’98). In 2012, the pitcher came out of retirement and made his Atlantic League debut when signed a contract with the Sugar Land Skeeters, joining his son Koby who was a catcher on the team. The then 50-year-old pitched in two games with the Skeeters, one of them against the Bluefish, and impressed everyone when he struck out three batters and allowed just three hits in eight scoreless innings.
