Bridgeport sends quintet to July 13 contest
(Bridgeport, Conn. – July 6, 2016) – Bridgeport Bluefish team officials today announced that five members of the team have been selected to participate in the 2016 Atlantic League All-Star Game. Infielder Jose Cuevas, infielder/outfielder Jonathan Galvez, catcher Rossmel Perez, and pitchers Jonathan Albaladejo and Jimmy Patterson will represent the Bluefish on the Liberty Division team.

“We are very pleased to have these five players represent the Bluefish during the 2016 Atlantic League All-Star Game,” says Bluefish manager Luis Rodriguez. “They have been key members of our team during the first half of the season and are deserving of this accomplishment.”
Cuevas has impressed during his first tour in the Park City as he ranks second in the Atlantic League in runs scored (44), third in RBI (43), sixth in doubles (17) and extra base hits (25), and twelfth in batting average (.291). He also leads the team in all of those categories while slugging seven home runs, collecting 74 hits, and posting a .338 on-base percentage over the course of 68 games played.
Galvez is enjoying his second year with the ‘Fish, appearing in 38 games and collecting a .293 batting average with seven home runs, 11 doubles, 28 RBI, and 23 runs scored over 140 at-bats. He has also posted a .371 on-base percentage and a .892 OPS.
Perez, in his first season with the ball club, has played 46 games and is batting .248 with one home run, eight doubles, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored.
Albaladejo has been a significant contributor for the Bluefish pitching staff in the starting rotation. He leads the Atlantic League with seven wins and is fifth with 82.0 innings pitched. The righthander has made 14 starts for Bridgeport, compiling a 4.39 ERA with 67 strikeouts.
Patterson, during his second season in Bridgeport and first in the starting rotation, has made 14 appearances (13 starts), while posting a 4.24 ERA with 55 strikeouts over the course of 70.0 innings of work.

Cuevas, Galvez, Perez, Albaladejo, and Patterson will represent the Bluefish on the Atlantic League Liberty Division squad managed by Somerset skipper Brett Jodie at the 2016 All-Star Game, which takes place July 13 at Clipper Magazine Stadium, home of the Lancaster Barnstormers, in Lancaster, PA.
